Brianna Fano Lucite Jewellery
Industrial textures and radiant, crystalline pops of colour are the stars of Brianna Fano's debut jewellery collection for spring 2012, showcased in striking arrangements that defy tradition and redefine what's feminine and beautiful. Rope, lucite, and hardware are combined into bold and unexpected sculptures of wearable art.
Fano grew up in Miami, Florida and was exposed to her mother's love of jewellery-making from a young age. She later attended Parsons School of Design in New York City where she focused primarily on apparel but also began making distinctive accessories for close friends and family. Inspired, she joined forces with a local Lucite manufacturer and soon the aqueous, luminescent elements that mark her first collection were born.
Fano uses materials not usually seen in jewellery, like soft braided rope, large visible hinges, and plastic, to create an unexpected and masculine energy that brings forward the contrast between inflexible contemporary shapes and soft feminine curves, making both more beautiful.
Oversized metal hooks clasp pliable woven cords, asymmetrical sets of cubes and spheres sit strung together over brass chains, and hues of gold and silver and cobalt blue bring light and texture to the forefront.
The Brianna Fano collection dazzles and shines without a single sequin, fleck of glitter, or precious gem. It makes a new kind of statement that celebrates beauty and strength together, pushing forward into the future
with a resplendent but low-maintenance grace.
Each piece is made to order and can be customised with interchangeable colours and finishes.
